Privately owned by the Lehman family since 1967, Shank’s Extracts has become a high-quality, high-volume manufacturer of vanilla. In recent years, the company has established an enviable position as a leader in the vanilla and flavorings industry.

Shanks’ advanced facility contains approximately 110,000 square feet of manufacturing, packaging and distribution area. Shank’s employs some 100 workers, trained in both the crafting of vanilla and the latest advances in processing technology.

Shank’s is a member in good standing of such trade associations as the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) and National Ice Cream Mix Association (NICMA). Shanks’ products are supervised and approved by the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms; the U.S. Food and Drug Administration; and the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture.
