Why We’re Different...
Despite its widespread appeal, vanilla is an exotic flavor that comes from an orchid grown in just a few places around the world. Vanilla beans, the source of the flavor, are picked by hand, and then cured, graded and shipped. Processing the beans to extract the flavor usually follows a time-honored formula.

In short, the tradition-steeped vanilla processing business has been managed in much the same way for more than a century.

But, today, is there a better way to produce vanilla? And what benefits could we -and, more importantly, you-realize?

Several years ago, we decided to completely review the vanilla production process. Unlike most suppliers, we had the ability to invest in modem equipment-equipment that could offer better quality control and greater product consistency, with greater cost efficiency. Too, with literally decades of processing experience to draw upon, we used our contacts at the key vanilla production points -the tropical areas of Madagascar, Indonesia, Tahiti, Tonga, Costa Rica and Mexico -to purchase beans directly from producers, instead of paying extra markups to middlemen.

By taking this fresh approach to the vanilla business, we’ve been able to realize gains in virtually every aspect of vanilla production, from the quality and consistency of raw materials, to cost savings and logistics support.
